Sentinel Credit Serviced Limited (“SenCred”, “we”, “us”, “our”) provides commercial debt recovery services in New Zealand. We are committed to protecting personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (as amended) and the Credit Reporting Privacy Code 2020.

This policy applies to personal information we collect in connection with our services. SenCred primarily operates in the commercial (business-to-business) space. However, some personal information may still be processed, including where individuals are involved in business activities (e.g. directors, sole traders).

8. Credit Reporting
Credit reporting in New Zealand is strictly regulated.
·         Companies: May be listed with commercial credit reporting agencies
·         Individuals (including sole traders): Generally, cannot be listed unless specific legal criteria are met

We will only report information where legally permitted. We do not rely on contractual wording alone to justify credit reporting.

9. Sole Traders
If you operate as a sole trader:
·         You are personally liable for your debts
·         However, credit reporting options may be limited under law
·         We may still retain and use your information for lawful recovery activity

10. Monitoring
We may use credit monitoring tools where appropriate. This allows us to be notified of relevant changes (e.g. credit enquiries) and may trigger further communication regarding outstanding debts.

11. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access.

12. Access and Correction
You may request access to your personal information and request corrections by contacting us.

13. Retention
We retain information only as long as necessary, including for legal and recovery purposes.

14. Complaints
If you believe your privacy has been breached, you may contact us. If unresolved, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

15. Updates
We may update this policy from time to time.
